Sea of Cortez

The Gulf of California, also called the Sea of Cortez and the Bermejo Sea, is a narrow body of water located in Mexico, between the Baja California peninsula and the Mexican states of Sonora and Sinaloa.

Due to its natural wealth, the islands and protected areas of the Sea of Cortez were named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.
